Lead Pastor / Planter
Born in Korea, I immigrated to the States at 7 years old, and grew up in the church. But it wasn’t until college that I gave my life to following Jesus, after listening to a sermon that a friend sent me by John Piper titled Boasting Only in the Cross. Looking back, I realize it changed the trajectory of my whole life.
I had studied engineering in college, but upon graduation I jumped into seminary, and started serving as a pastor at the church I was attending then - Sarang Church. Shortly after that, I met my best friend, Esther, while leading a team on a weeklong mission trip to Ensenada, Mexico. We got married in 2013 and we now have three amazing daughters - Charlotte, Elisha and Aria!
Over 14 years I had the privilege of serving and growing as a pastor, then for two years I had a unique season of recalibrating as a leadership resident at Southlands Church (Brea). Now as we journey with River City Church, I dream on with eyes of faith, knowing that God's desire is to advance the gospel, both to the innermost parts of our hearts and to the outermost parts of the earth.
